Christopher J. Bloch, ChE, MetE

Mr. Bloch is a chemical/corrosion engineer and metallurgist with over 50 years of experience in the cleaning of utility, petrochemical and refinery facilities.

Mr. Bloch was a finalist for Platt’s Energy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009, 2010 and 2015. Mr. Bloch has been awarded twelve U.S. Patents related to cleaning and other technologies. He has extensive experience related to contamination and corrosion issues related to power, petrochemical and refinery plants.

Mr. Bloch has authored technical papers for the National Association of Corrosion

Engineers (NACE).

Mr. Bloch was formerly chairman of the Houston Section of the American Welding Society and is an advisor to the AWS D10 Committee for welding of tubing and pipe. He is also a member of the ASME peer review group for welding of ferritic creep resistant steels used in the construction of new power plants. Mr. Bloch was the American Welding Society Guest Lecturer to India for 2018.

Mr. Bloch has had extensive experience in control of steam cycle chemistry, and corrosion and crack repair technologies related to large utility steam turbines.
